The Fire­house Gold­en­voice series accen­tu­ates the pos­i­tive with Den­nis Loren’s tour de force in metal­lic glory for Yes and Asia at the Warfield July 2, 2009. Num­ber 48 in the series, this poster is a beau­ti­ful shim­mer­ing homage to Roger Dean, mas­ter designer for Prog Rock­ers Yes since the early 1970’s. Mr. Dean, who was at the show, offered his hearty affir­ma­tion, sum­mon­ing Den­nis Loren and printer Chuck Sperry to the back­stage for a meet­ing of minds. He was flat­tered by the homage, laugh­ing and say­ing, “It so good, you should be shot!” Then tak­ing up Sperry’s ink cov­ered hands, remarked, “The Eng­lish painter Turner said, you have only to look at the hands to deter­mine who is the real artist.” Don’t sur­round your­self with your­self — sur­round your­self with awe­some art from the Firehouse!
