This poster was a joint print-venture collaboration between Chris Shaw and Ron Donovan. 200 Posters were printed for each show at San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre on the 10th and 11th of march 2010. The 2 posters are the same except for the date, printed on Hendrix’s fingernails. Silkscreened at the Firehouse in Oakland using stunning metallic inks on heavy stock. Variant prints of this poster on iridescent stock will be released.

Dave Hunter and Chuck Sperry designed and printed a two-up poster for Gov’t Mule when they played Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26, 2009 at the Warfield, Firehouse Goldenvoice Poster Series numbers 66 and 67.

These were printed together on one parent sheet and cut apart, so the challenge was to bring out the best in each artist while sharing the same color palette. We chose to print a heavy silver metallic and tint the silver with three custom mixed primary colors and black.

Both posters are available here in a limited offering.

A very limited release of uncut sheets containing both posters will be made at TRPS Festival of Poster at the Hall of Flowers in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Saturday, October 10, from 10 am to 6pm.

A decade in the making…

Bill Graham Presents’ New Fillmore Series is at an important sign-post: F1000. This hallmark San Francisco poster series is still going strong at it’s 1000th poster. To mark this special occasion, BGP will be releasing Chuck Sperry’s poster for The Pretenders at The Fillmore auditorium in San Francisco on March 14 & 15, 2009.

Signature to The Firehouse is a masterful use of metallic colors, to be commemorated in this special offset printing by Great Impressions, SSF by including a spot silver metallic ink. Sperry, in consultation with the printer, gave this poster The Firehouse touch, so the metallic will be printed — left to dry for one day — and then specially tinted by blue and purple. Just the right touch to celebrate a great show and 1000 great posters. Congratulations Chuck!

Tom Jones Warfield by Jeff Ross

The next gig poster in the Firehouse Goldenvoice Series is for the Tom Jones concert Saturday, March 7th at The Warfield by artist Jeff Ross. It’s not unusual to see great artists like Jeff Ross work their magic when they are at Hangar 18. Stay tuned for details on an upcoming art exhibit in Venice featuring works printed by Jeff while he was kicking it at Hangar 18. Now available for purchase through the artist.
