Jon-Paul Bail of Political Gridlock has finished his latest and quite possibly the greatest art print to date. Miley Cyrus, star of the Disney Channel hit series Hannah Montana, was being a naughty girl recently, caught by TMZ, and beautifully printed at Hangar 18.  Only 16 of these pieces were silk screened on 18″ x 18″ canvas, all signed and numbered by the artist Jon-Paul Bail.

What does a revolutionary leader, prime minister, and president from Cuba have in common? They’re all the subject of Chuck Sperry’s newest art print, Fidel Castro. Jon-Paul Bail, of Political Gridlock, was at Hangar 18 to print these 18″ x 18″ silk screened art masterpieces on canvas. With only 13 printed, this may just be harder to get than a Cuban cigar.

It Takes All Kinds art exhibition March 7th — April 12th, 2009
Opening Reception Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 6:00 pm — 11:00 pm

Curated by artist Ken Davis, “It Takes All Kinds,” looks at how street artists have moved from the world to the gallery, and in some cases back again. All the artists featured in this show have amazing drawing and painting skills, much of which were honed through graffiti, sign painting, tattoo design and illustration. Once these skills left the street they became focused on incredibly beautiful works of fine art, ranging from delicate burned wood drawings, (do not miss this work by Matt Richie), to large scale, three dimensional urban landscapes by Task One. This show promises to be a creative circus, the likes of which have not been seen in Alameda before. Music will be provided by invited DJ’s Wyatt Gurp, Harbour and Tekasaurus R.rex, and there will be a live silk screening demo by Political Gridlock with prints available for sale during the opening celebration.

John Stuart Berger is a Northern California artist who passes time by manipulating and mutating various forms of the natural world. He is intrigued by organisms that tend to slither, crawl, ooze, fly, strike and usually bite!

Matt Richie
Hailing from Hayward, Matt is known for his meticulous woodburning and ball point pen work as well as complicated and seductive shadowboxes.

Ken Davis
Currently living in Alameda, Kenís work has been described as a combination of old-school hand lettering combined with contemporary themes. Skateboard companies, stores, and bands have all commissioned him to produce work for them.
