Firehose West Coast 2012 posters by Scott Johnson and Ron Donovan
Firehose reunited for the first time since 1994 this year, playing a short west coast tour. Just to make things clear, I’m not talking about Firehouse, the 80’s hair metal band. But these posters WERE printed at the Firehouse Kustom Rockart Co., or Hangar 18…anyone not familiar with this band and their history should make themselves so…
Anyway, all of these prints were laid down on the same background that was created for the series, which was a 3 color recreation of a weathered piece of parchment paper. The first of the series was Ron Donovan’s Bob Ross with Gene Simmons makeup, and the next three followed suit with more afros and the remaining members of Kiss. All four were designed by Ron Donovan and Scott Johnson, with each one taking the lead on a rotating basis. Why afros and Kiss? Why not? So, the series progressed as follows…
Sacramento: Bob Ross / Gene Simmons 7 colors
San Francisco: Richard Pryor / Paul Stanley 7 colors
Fresno: Little Orphan Annie / Peter Criss 6 colors
Indio (Coachella): Don Cornelius / Ace Frehley 12 colors
This series of 4 is signed, numbered, and packaged in a mailer screen printed with a big 4 color version of the Firehose 2012 logo depicted in all the posters. Each poster is 19 x 25 inches and printed on heavy stock.
